"To bottle the warmth of a summer's day - now that's
a thing worth doing!"

Ian Forrest is the author of the science fiction novel, Shadow Guide. He obtained a BA in Medieval and Modern History at the University of Nottingham in England and worked in the IT field before teaching English in many countries around the world. He appreciates any literature that is beautifully written and provokes thought, and loves characters who leap from the page to delight, infuriate and intrigue us.

As well as literature, Ian’s passions are history and science. His writing looks at the problems and possibilities facing us at the present moment and into the future, and how the lessons of history are relevant to all of us. His writing touches on many things but, above all, he writes about people. After all, it's hard to ignore them. He remains a proud and irredeemable optimist.

Ian lives in France with his wife and son. He is presently writing Tempest Moon, the sequel to Shadow Guide, which is due to be published in 2026.
